Roasted Vegetables on Squid Ink Spaghetti

I have been a bad blogger this week. OK, I posted twice last weekend, but I have been slow in visiting others and commenting. This was an intense week at work with all my focus going towards a presentation. And I'm a wee bit lonely. Certain Someone is still in Sweden and his trip has now been extended until the end of next week. Work! On top of all that I'm not really inspired. I normally don't mind cooking for one, but I'm just not in the mood or can think of anything blog worthy. I'm in more an artistic mood and have been working with some gum paste deigns to add to a cake, if I ever get motivated or an occasion.

Tonight I just threw this together. In that artistic frame of mind ,I was more motivated by the colors of veggies against the black squid ink pasta rather than taste. Although it was good! But who hasn't had buttered and oiled spaghetti . Takes me back to those starving student days. I just threw in some balsamic roasted veggies for a twist. Until the next time....

I think it's a really pretty and probably tasty dish. I'd love to try squid ink noodles, but I have no idea where I'd find them.

It's been slow for everyone lately, I think. Think it has to do with the heat.

I'm sorry about your loneliness.
:(
I'd come visit you if I could. Have a good weekend!

I've tried squid ink pasta once or twice. It's fun for variety, but the Husband doesn't like it. He thinks it looks strange.

I love the colors here! Gray and orange is one of my favorite combinations because one "wakes up" the other. I'm sure it tasted wonderful, too!

Dear Glamah, yes, nice colours on a black carpet! It looks so minimalist! We know the taste of black ink on spaghetti and we like it! Glamah, do you really feel lonely? Maybe you're just tired...work, doing always the same things, all that you have been through....it's going to pass, you're full of passion!

Hey Glamah,

How about grabbing a friend or two, going to your favorite restaurants and then post about your experiences with some of those great photos you take??

Unfortunately, don't think my family would touch the black pasta. I'd like to try it someday myself, though.

We all go through that from time to time. I'm going through it right now--my kitchen diaries site has been neglected for longer than it should simply because of lack of motivation, and inspiration.

Besides these two weeks are so...quiet--many people are on holidays and it's just a little slower...

ah, I hate it when I ever start to feel like that...

...so if you fancy flying me over to cook dinner for me, I guess I could make some space in my schedule?! :)

(funnily enough I was just planning a squid ink pasta meal!)

Hey, nothing wrong with a bowl of pasta with some roasted veggies. In fact, just the smell of boiling pasta sets my stomach working. . .

That is a trippy photo!
I've only tried squid ink pasta in restaurants but not at home. I have to give it a try.

I like your photos. Esp the 1st one.

I'm not a squid ink pasta fan. I like squid ink as a garnish on sashimi though.

Also, I don't think squid ink is vegan. Not to be a Nancy Know-it-All. :P

Nothing wrong with cooking something purely for aesthetic purposes ;-) I have a packet of squid ink in my cupboard that I keep threatening to use in a risotto but have not got as far yet...
